Stacking 3rds is a great method for understanding what notes comprise a chord. Especially nice that stacking 3rds for minors is simply the reverse of stacking 3rds for majors. Helps as a shortcut rather than memorizing every scale (WWHWWWH) and counting 1-3-5 every time. Long ago I gave up on trying to impose logic onto a guitar fretboard and gave in to memorizing and visualizing notes. Shortcuts like stacking 3rds is a blessing. Thanks!

Very informative video. Good to know these things. Most often I'm taking it to a pro for adjustments to truss rods or pickup hight adjustments but the rest I can do without concern.

The correct answer is all, That’s the guitar that’s right for me!

Kurt knew Tablature. So this whole “ear vs theory” idea that they are perpetuating is nonsense.

Wow, this is THE worst video I've seen on the Edge's sound. Wrong guitar, wrong pickups, wrong pickup selected, wrong EQ, RIGHT pick and chose NOT to use it! He doesn't even dial in the proper delay time!!! And no mention of the dotted eight delay. I had to stop watching during Streets when he turned on the delay. Totally incorrect. Unbelievable. I am really stunned. If there are people here who actually want to learn how to get the Edge's sound check out @U2GuitarTutorials on youtube.

Very informative. As an added point of information there are also several aftermarket products available that are designed as “dummy coils” which ostensibly turn your single coils into humbuckers without altering the guitar or the single coil sound. I have no personal experience with them and unless you know what you’re doing they should be installed by a professional but they’re are numerous RUclips videos on the subject.

Great stuff but it’s just the intro… plenty of cool stuff in the verses to glean. The dyads he uses on the A and G string for the G and A chord. Mixing of major and minor. The climb up from C7 to D7 . Just some food for thought

I took the time this last month to learn all the notes. I can't name every note cold out of the blue yet but i can do the natural notes. What that means is you know the note without referencing another note to find what it is. Satriani is right.

A lot of other guitarists are playing this riff around frets7 and 8 using b and g strings. The live version shows the same thing are you sure it starts on fret 12.
